SOUTH WEST MEET 9Feb 19, near crediton, Devon.

Following on from the great success of our inpromptu meet at David Bowyers off road course on the 29th of December how about we have another meet on the 9th February ?

meeting would be at the Waie Inn 1230/1300 for lunch with the option to do some off roading at 1400hrs on David Bowyers off road site.

For those thinking of doing the off-roading it would be £25 per vehicle. It is David's training site so there is something for all abilities to undertake and all types of vehicle. Being a training site the chance of damage is minimal.

I am more than happy to book at the pub and speak to David plus organise the afternoon session if people are interested, or just call it a pub meet if people don't want to do the off-roading, there is the option to watch off roading at no charge.

Last time was good fun, David led us all on a convoy around the course before letting us loose! we were there until it was pretty much dark!

Would I be able to attend again please for lunch and the drive? It was nice to meet everyone before you head out so you get to know everybody your with and David bowers site had a bit of everything to have fun in any 4x4

I’m only in Cullompton, but my wife is away for the weekend, so I’m a full time dad that weekend.

Well...!! That was a blast!
Having had a meet and a coffee at the pub, and a moment eyeing up the great range of well-prepped Landies, we set off for the test ground.
The instruction to be in lo, with diffs locked, from the moment we went thro the gate was well made, as we were immediately presented with a wonderfully challenging, well prepared area of ground, with a whole range of obstacles, mud-baths, ponds, gradients, lumps and bumps, more than sufficient to occupy us until a very welcome lunch back at the pub.
The event was really well handled, with attention, but no interference. Newbies were made to feel most welcome and left feeling like experts. Getting stuck was no drama, and extraction guidance was forthcoming and usually spot-on!
Many thanks James and Dave, from me and from three small, hugely enthusiastic nine-year-olds, who all thoroughly enjoyed the day. Having my ear bent already, both for a return visit and a 90 with hi-lift!
