defender 2012 replacement battery
hey All. i have a 2012 2.2 110 with an original battery. after about a week-10 days of sitting idle battery is too flat to start engine. Im assuming the battery, at 6 years old, is just plain cooked. Looking at replacing the battery with Varta 830CCA 100AH model.
However ive just been told i need to reset the ECU or tell the battery charge system a new battery has been fitted. Is this correct? personally i cant see the humble defender being that smart..

Belgium 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Keswick Green
Hi,
Defender 2.2 2012
I did have a flat battery in the summer on the beach.
The alarm was on and impossible to stop her.
Fortunnaly a people did have cables and I was able to start the engine.
There was a Renault garage not far and they had a similar battery.

Strange, no light or information on the dashboard.
But later I did take off the negatif on the battery and when put it again, everything was ok.

No more to do

Just bought a new battery from Halfraulds. Their last one only lasted 8 years. 5 year guarantee. Have a search. Peter

scangauge power drain
thanks for the help.
ive replaced battery with no issues. however is find the Scangauge i have installed seemed to be sucking a fair bit of power around 130mA. if i unplug it current drain drops to around 26mA so under the 30mA recommendation from manual.
anyone else found this with an installed scangauge?
