Hi there,

The following SSM appeared on Nov 26.

Quote:
Models
LD - Defender
Title Defender Intermittent Cranking
Last Modified 26-NOV-2008 16:29
Category Electrical
Symptom 203000 Basic Electrical
Content Issue:

Warranty investigations have shown a number of repairs to Defender for intermittent loss of cranking.

Cause:

This issue may well be due to the immobilisation strategy on Defender.

Action:

Before conducting any work on a vehicle with this symptom, please view SSM 34184.

Somebody knows the SSM 34184? I can't found it in the GTR.

Thanks. Eduardo

I stopped for fuel and was unable to start the 110. LRA came out, computer and all and said it was the immobiliser. Back of lorry all the way home, fuel consumption the best ever for the complete trip, 78mpg, fully laden. normally only 22 -24. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Whats broken now ?

Ive had this problem. Jumped out at work for a few miuntes, cranked over for about 1 second then stopped turning over, tried again and the same happened, got out locked up the car unlocked it and it started fine.

Another thing to ask the dealer to look at. 1999 90 TD5 County
