Lift pump
Hello again, I have purchased a new fuel lift pump. The new part has come with a spacer and there is a clear warning which slightly confuses me. It tells you to use the original spacer from the old unit however provides a new spacer. Looking at the engine, a D1200tdi, there does not seem to be a spacer between the fuel pump and the engine. Any advice on wether to use the provided spacer please?

I removed my lift pump a couple of months ago as I replaced it with an electric lift pump. There was definitely no spacer in there, just the pump bolted straight to the block. I took off a genuine part, I do wonder if aftermarket parts need a spacer?

lift pump on 200tdi is common to all the earlier 2.5 diesel engines, some need the spacer & some [200tdi] have it built in see below
