The best LR present of all: a Defender that started first time, this morning, at sub-zero temps Monsieur Le Grenadier

Do you often have trouble with that? Mine has no trouble down to -15°C as it hit last year. Spend bloody ages de-icing the inside though! Outside is easy, bucket of warm water and sorted. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

I feel your pain. I suffered for 18 years (I’m only 40) before the doctor finally decided I was old enough to get gout. I now take the magic allopurinol. If you’re not on it then go see the doc. 2002 110 td5 |

No, not normally. At your mentioned temp or lower, it can be a struggle, lots of turn over before fire up, but always manages in the end. Mind you this year she's had new oil, filter, diesel filter, coolant etc, so perhaps that helps. But let's be honest, it's always nice whenever a Defender starts, whatever the weather Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

An engine warning light! I’ve only driven it 3 times since March and any more than about half throttle brings the light on. It was remapped by JE Engineering with the intercooler replacement and the last time the light came on the AA’s code reader said it related to the MAF - so was unplugged, cleaned and re-seated and code cleared.
I’ve bought an icarsoft reader, which I’ll connect up in a couple of days. Any suggestions? |

An induction leak somewhere will bring on a mil. A pressure differential between maf and map sensors. Check all hoses and intercooler.

Thanks, will give JE a call in the New Year and get them to take a look - for £1,400 I’d expect to be able to use more than part throttle.

I am a very lucky and blessed husband! Never thought I get one of these... Even after I mentioned it (thinking they were < £100 for a day) my wife's reply was - DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THEY ARE!
I thought forget that then... But in true 'Reading' style my wife has gone all out and and got me a day's private 4x4 tuition. A friend who took a photo of my Ninety in the snow, during "the Beast" last March, had the photo put on a mug and his partner wrapped it up nicely so I had something Land Rover related to open on Christmas Day.
