With a change in personal circumstances I need to consolidate the garage down from a 110, car and motorbike. My 1996 Defender 110 5 door is very reluctantly now going up for sale. It has 150,000 miles on the clock and when you see the list below you can see I have spent a lot of time and money sorting it out for camping and sensible overlanding. I have not done any green-laning or hard core off roading in it. With a Discovery transfer box it drives really well on tarmac too.

I have extensive paperwork for parts, work receipts and services, much of which has been done by LR independents like Devon 44 and Chris Wood of Elite (ex Taunton LR service manager) in the past two years. Chris replaced the chassis and at the same time changed a number of other parts such as bushes and bolts. I have pics of the chassis re-build. I do not want any px offers and nor I do I want to strip parts off it. The reduced price takes into account me taking off the Maggiolina roof tent and the Foxwing 270 awning with all three side panels and poles.

The V5 is in my name, at my home address, and I have owned it for @ 4 years. There is no finance on it. I have no need to sell it in the short term so please no daft offers. If the right buyer wanted to buy it but at a later date (before Xmas) we can discuss a deposit to hold and acceptable time frame to complete as I have some other camping trips to take it on.

Price now £13500

I took the family away into the Picos in northern Spain in June for 10 days in the mountains. This was a fantastic trip in which the Defender drove brilliantly on and off road. It was serviced and MoTed just before we went away.

Here is the specification with as much as I can remember:

Powder coated tree sliders
5 x Genuine SVX dual finish wheels with General Grabber tyres 235x55x16 (tyres less than 6 months old) all with locking nuts

Bad bits

Some minor corrosion to a couple of doors, behind ladder steps and below right rear window (see pics). Doors shut and lock fine. Inevitably some scratches and small dents

This is a lot of vehicle, appreciating in value and ready for a new home and adventures. Serious buyers are welcome to come and see and drive her in Somerset. Before you come I will answer any questions I can and send additional pictures, if needed, so you know what it is. I have bought and sold stuff on this forum and always had a good experience so I really hope this goes to another forum member. I have advertised however elsewhere.

It is insured with Adrian Flux who understand these vehicles and have taken into account the modifications to ensure it is valued/insured correctly.

A few have sent PMs asking for some more detail on my 110 so have added in here:

I have around 6 MoTs but the DVLA site gives a much more comprehensive print out going back @ 10 years
4 former keepers. I have owned it since 2014
Heavy duty springs front and back
Galvanised turrets done when galvanised chassis was fitted
Lots of receipts going back over 5 years
Bulkhead is sound
5 x Coper tyres were fitted brand new in June
Spare wheel carrier fitted (not sure brand)

With feedback from a few people I have reduced the price on the 110 to £13500. This price will exclude the Roof tent and Foxwing plus 3 sides. These may be sold separately.

Defender 300 tdi 5 door for sale

Sadly a forum member had to pull out of the purchase of my 110 so back on the market. The awning will be coming off and the roof tent sold separately (unless new buyer wants to negotiate that in).

Im a member of a group on FB and posted yesterday asking if anyone knew of a Defender 110 for sale. A member mentioned this site and specifically your username and that you had one for sale, but they didn't know if it had sold.. Ive just read all through what you've posted and seen the pics and was wondering if the Landy is still for sale? and would it be possible to send more pics to my email? Thanks in advance

Hi again, I was wondering if you have pics of :

Engine Bay
Looking down onto the roof
A full frontal of the Landy
A full rear shot showing door and back of roof-rack

Understand about keeping it to do a few camping trips over xmas etc and perhaps once the festivities are over we could touch base on the phone and hopefully organise a mutual day/time in the new year to meet up for a viewing?.

Thanks buddy. Let s see if we do get a sale. As for the Foxwing I have decided to keep it and put it on my D3 with some very nice brackets for Prospeed that got their rack 😄
