Thank-you. I did search for it but couldn't seem to find the info I wanted.
Did you have a tune at all? This is a point I am a bit concerned about as I've been told not to get a pump learn done with remap loaded. (Alive stage 1.) Edit.*And it seems a Pump learn isn't always required.* No Guts, No Glory.

Missed that bit, it's easier to unclip the connector when you've removed the 2 bolts holding the vcv.

Genuine Ford for me, both times. I've done a relearn without removing my BAS tune with no problems, and I've also let it sort itself out over time with no problems.
I would only consider taking the tune off as an absolute last resort, since my EGR has been inactive for 200,000 miles and I seriously doubt it would work if I went back to a standard tune. It would open a huge can of worms! |

Oh so thatโs a relief, I did know trying to load the old map would be a disaster what with the EGR cooler being coked most likely. Already blanked and the EGR that used to throw up the MIL. I guess it must relearn itโs self over time for the pump, when or how often who knows. Most things seem to happen after xx stop start cycles.
Blackwolf - Out if interest and if you could kindly spare the time do you have that P/N for the Ford part? Itโs done quite well so far, likely the original VCV on mine from new in late 07 and nearly 80k so canโt complain. Forgot to add one last point. Looking at the other thread kindly pointed out above. It appears there is no torque setting the the two bolts and is instead an experienced nip up tightness and not over tight.
Can anyone confirm that there is not a torque setting for these. If there is I can look it up, only I havenโt had time to check as of yet. No Guts, No Glory.

As said, just nip them up, they're only m6 so they don't have to be too tight. I wouldn't think you'd be able to torque them up anyway due to the position of the vcv.

One less thing to bother about then.
*Edited to save another posting.* I found the following P/N's when searching on here, which should be useful: The Landrover part number is LR009837 The Ford part number is 1 514 885 (6C1Q 9358 AB) The Denso part number is 6C1Q 9358 AB Glad there isn't much involved and I can just change it over, will have to get one ordered up soon and get on with it. That's good to hear then.
I'm waiting on prices from Ford, just to see what the say really. The other day I read though various threads on this subject and when I was looking at the PF Jones Denso ones in the 'condition of sale' section tab it does mention if memory serves me right that most parts are reconditioned and tested parts. The eBay Denso ones look okay, but who knows if they are genuine used or recon or what. If they do happen to be faulty with no EML who knows if something else could be thought to be the culprit. Either way, just waiting on prices but I'm imagining Ford would be ยฃ130 - ยฃ150 by now looking at prices a few years ago and LR are probably about ยฃ200 which takes some swallowing that amount for an item such as the VCV. I find it hard to see how the eBay Denso versions sell for around ยฃ60, at other retailers sell for around ยฃ110 or so and Ford abd LR above that. The eBay ones must be recon a lot of them I'd have thought, but who knows. No Guts, No Glory.
