Puma revs to 1000rpm on its own?
Hi guys, I have recently changed my transfer case on my puma 90 2.4, which i also changed the speed sensor and the 3 wires. After i plugged the new speed sensor in, the defender seems to rev on its own to 1000rpm after releasing clutch and when coming to a stop. If I unplug the speed sensor, the over rev stops. does it have to do something with anti-stall?

Much appreciate your help. if anyone had the same experience on their puma.

Idle Jack keeps it at 1100rpm in 1st and rev in low. Maybe it's rewired wrong and thinks it's in low? Cheers

+1 that sounds exactly like when the TB is in low range... Check your low/high switch (IGM500011), connector and wiring (for the record, in low range the circuit is closed) “A Land Rover immobilized is a moral defeat for the driver and bad publicity for the vehicle, […] it's up to you to do justice to your Land Rover!” - Land Rover Driving Technique.

FIXED! the high/low switch was disconnected closed circuit so it was thinking it is in low range.
