I was wondering if the ride control system was worth the extra expense over the standard b6 set up? 2016 Defender Landmark 90

I’ve never had the B6 without Ride control because previous owner fitted it. I have the invoice and it was a “best offer” on ebay for a new kit from a well known dealer. Really amazing deal considering how well it works but even if it was full price I would still say yes....I dont think I would consider a Defender without it now that I’m using it on the road a lot more.
I’ve driven on standard LR shocks and both the ride control settings are much much MUCH better that that. |

So...ride much better??
I have had my defender for 6 years and like the ride on genuine shocks/springs as I recognise it is a defender...not a car. So how is the ride better exactly?? |

Do you have the full ride control system or the standard B6 setup and are you using standard springs? Thanks 2016 Defender Landmark 90 2005 Defender CSW TD5 90XS |

Of course you are happy and i am happy for you and would never even attempt to say anything would be better or worse for you as that is personal preference. I sincerely apologise if my words led you to believe i was questioning your own personal experience and that you found them upsetting. It was never my intention to offend any members of the standard dampers community. |

I have been in one with the ride control button - The ride was very good in normal but as you press the button to make the dampers softer, it felt like it was going to roll over. I believe there is an app version with lots of fine tuning which might be the way forward but you would never use the button in the real world apart from showing your mates.

The box can be calibrated. The stiffer ride is for road and towing, the softer setting for off-road terrain and correctly calibrated has the exact same rating as the standard shocks. But you’re describing a springs/arb issue, which the firmer setting would hide to a degree.
My button is actually hidden, my mates don’t know it’s there.... |
