Sounds like pedal height needs adjusting. Two nuts adjust position of pedal arm on the mc rod. Cheers

Mine failed at 106,000km.
2014 model. There is an updated parts list on the Clutchfix site. I think you will find that it is the slave cylinder that has failed which means a gearbox out job. Mark |

Ok, thanks both for that.
I'll see if he can adjust the pedal and give it a go with the master cylinder as that work is done, but it's in the back of my mind if could be the slave cylinder which is a pretty big job... 2008 Defender 110 |

Try the easiest first.
Get rid of the air first and check for any improvement, use only a genuine replacement. Not so easy to adjust the stroke when in situ, Though have the very same issue some time ago, pedal on the floor, looked for any leaks, while hoping it wasn’t the concentric slave cylinder. Swapped out the old MC, removed the complete pedal box assembly, on doing so bored a socket size hole on the outer pedal box, giving access to readjust the push rod on the cylinder if required. |
