That's awful to hear... I'm not a million miles away from you
Was there any additional security on any of those items, or just standard fittings? |

What concerns me most is the ability to evade the alarm.
It's been so sensitive in the past, I never thought of it as a weak link. |

If all they had to do was unbolt and lift off, it probably wasn't enough movement to trigger the alarm.
Is it a standard alarm? Im going to check up on mine now.. although I have an aftermarket alarm system... Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

I read that too... or filing the screw heads with something like this is another option...

Yeh you can, but what happens when you need to get them out to make a change?? that's my concern.. I know you can buy security bolts and screws for all hinges... Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Do you have the battery-backup sounder fitted? I'd suggest checking the cable from the battery to the fuse box under the driver's seat. If no BBUS is fitted and this cable is cut, the alarm is disabled. Every thief knows this, it is no secret.
I have recently replaced my hinges and to do so had to remove ball bearings from every screwhead. It took about an hour per door once I'd found a technique that worked, so it can be done. It is a very reassuring security upgrade. I have no intention of disclosing my technique. |

Don't blame you bud - but if it takes an hour per door, I doubt any thieves will bother lol...
Ill be investing in some security hinges eventually. Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Metal putty in my hinge bolts. It takes a while to clear them out so you can remove the bolts. Anything that delays the thieving scroats is good.

I was thinking the same as Blackwolf. I'd definitely get the alarm checked that it is working correctly. If yours is the orange Adventure is saw had this done in FB you should have a bbus? If it wasn't you then another had bonnet and doors taken in last couple of days.
Hope you get it resolved without too much trouble. I guess this is also a good idea, and a damn sight cheaper than security hinges... Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

I fitted these Adam, took a morning to change them over for all the doors. not cheap but peace of mind and all that. Sadly the only thing we can do is buy time with all security and, as has been mentioned before, the use of layers of security is as good as you can get. The biggest thing is proving a deterrent that puts off thieves in the first palace.
