Gasket advice
Evening chaps,

Can anyone recommend a brand for a good quality gasket set for my 300tdi. I'm also in the process of changing the head gasket, timing belt etc.

Looking for a quality brand as the old girl has to be reliable.

Also any hints and tips would be useful as I know your advice is golden!

Enjoy your Sunday chaps

Regards tom

I would buy the gaskets individually to ensure I was getting OEM or genuine where affordable. Gasket sets have a habit of having varying quality items within the set and are sometimes missing specific items.

For the head gasket, go MLS (metal) such as Victor Reinz, rather a composite one. Dayco for the timing belt

Get your gaskets from Turners would be my advice. They build engines, so know their stuff.

The metal gaskets seem to be better I find. But you can’t really go wrong with Victor Reinz brand very good quality.

Surprisingly, genuine gaskets were really good value at one time. Don't know if it is still the case.

Gaskets ordered chaps from turners in the end!

with Christmas looming I'm very tempted to complete this mini rebuild with the big turbo and inter cooler I keep seeing on these fancy sites. Still say the 300 is a better engine than my puma though

Anyway any tips on anything I can do while head is off is welcome

Regards
