I had the same issue, eventually overcome by moving the rad and header to the back!
What about fitting a td5/puma style header on the bulkhead. I wouldn't be running it on those longer bolts on anything other than tarmac. Had a similar issues after fitting +2 turrets and ended up with a similar way to your top picture. 2 upper mounts are sections of tube that the bolts pull through to the wing and then there is a lower brace that ties the header tank to the inner wing and stops it moving. With the standard bonnet there is no rubbing on the expansion cap and the tank doesn't touch any bodywork or suspension components, it doesn't move if you try and shake it hard.

Now that does look very similar to how i bodge jobbed mine... Hi Matt, it's been like that for about 5 years now and no issues whatsoever, the bottom brace makes a big difference and stops it wobbling around. From memory the pipe that runs from the bottom of the tank to the bracket on the timing case and then into the divider needed shortening a touch. Before that it wouldn't sit in the clip on the timing case as can be seen in the photo. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop
