I had the same issue, eventually overcome by moving the rad and header to the back!
What about fitting a td5/puma style header on the bulkhead. I wouldn't be running it on those longer bolts on anything other than tarmac. Looking the header or punching a hole in it would not be ideal. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Had a similar issues after fitting +2 turrets and ended up with a similar way to your top picture. 2 upper mounts are sections of tube that the bolts pull through to the wing and then there is a lower brace that ties the header tank to the inner wing and stops it moving. With the standard bonnet there is no rubbing on the expansion cap and the tank doesn't touch any bodywork or suspension components, it doesn't move if you try and shake it hard.
This was a few years ago but from memory the tubular upper mounts are the remains of an old hacksaw frame and the lower brace started life as some stainless steel kitchen tongs...the joys of a student budget Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop 1989 300Tdi 90 Soft top 1992 200Tdi 90 Truck cab with Land Cruiser axles |

I had thought of putting the header on the bulkhead but that means moving all the pipe work urghhhh lol... plus will it fit due to the air box and pipe on one side ? 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |

Now that does look very similar to how i bodge jobbed mine... Great minds haha... how long have you had it like that was there any issues with off roading? did you have to shorten any pipes with it being push move closer to the engine? 1995 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi - Sold 1989 Land Rover 90 - Rebuilding/built - its a project 2002 Land Rover Discovery TD5 - Sold 2017 Mini JCW F56 - Current Daily Driver |

Hi Matt, it's been like that for about 5 years now and no issues whatsoever, the bottom brace makes a big difference and stops it wobbling around. From memory the pipe that runs from the bottom of the tank to the bracket on the timing case and then into the divider needed shortening a touch. Before that it wouldn't sit in the clip on the timing case as can be seen in the photo. 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop
