So, step one. I'm a workshop foreman in a Alfa / Fiat / Abarth dealership so everything is done by myself, but still getting to know defenders while working on it.
Full service New crystal headlights Kbx grilles (lights) New door hinges - got them powder coated solid black and then polished them. Color difference to the body is minimal. Spare wheel carrier Convert the tailgate to side opening to get the dog in and out easier Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge The dog likes it already, sleeps in it all day when I'm working on customer cars at hone. Had a bit of luck and found a nearly new oem soft top 10km from here. Did him a decent offer and went to get it.
I allmost had a canvas one ordered because I couldn't use the truck cab, but had this one for the same price. While mounting it, added grey foam on all the tubes. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Thanks!
I try to keep the upgrades subtle indeed, although the next 2 mods will not be so subtle . I have a back and pelvis problem so good seats are essential. I didn't want to break the bank, and keep away from the boy racer seats to keep the car's style classic. Recently a set of Corbeau's with lumbar support turned up local for half the price of new ones ,so after a lot of searching (+topic on here) and measuring I went and got them today. Several sources indicated they would not fit a 3 seater, but the measurements showed that because its a soft top I can space them wider to the outside, and would just fit. They might be a little to sporty for the look of the car, but I just couldn't resist the bargain. Click image to enlarge Test fitted one today, it's tight, but fits perfectly. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Next up is mounting them along with the mounting plates, mud rails and bulkhead removal kit, which are on their way. The seatbelt bar will have to be modified too, along with the seatbelt mounting bracket to get the seatbelts to go through the holes in the seats. 'Sporty' accessory number 2 is on its way too (and will be the last for now ) in the form of a set of Evo Corse DakarZero wheels. Superb build quality, light weight (and seeing them on half of all Dakar race cars ) lured me into ordering them. No small price tag, but should be top quality. |

Nice Defender and excellent choice of wheels. Which colour did you go for?

Anthracite grey. The bronze is nice too, but I can't see it blend in on a black car with beige hood.
