Engine 7.2L 5w/30 Semi Synth - Fully synth tends to cause some TD5s to leak oil.
Only really need to be done every 2 years unless you do alot of towing/high mileage/off roading Gearbox about 3L MTF95 - fill till it comes out TX Box about 3L EP90 or EP80w/90 - fill till it comes out Diffs 1.7L each EP90 or EP80w/90 Proper EP90 is better than the 80/90 stuff but halfords/motorfactors dont often stock it. Air filter Fuel filter - I change mine every 2 years, look up the purge process if you change this. Centrafugal oil filter - DO NOT over tighten the bolts Main oil filter - can be a pig to change as access isnt fantastic Buy quality filters not cheap crap, ideally genuine oil filters Buy an oil pump (bout £15) itll make the job much faster and easier. Always remove the fill plug BEFORE the drain plug |

I filled my t box up with 75w90 as per Ashcrofts recommendation, just to throw a spanner in the works

Any evidence or basis to support your comment of fully synthetic oil causing leaks?

My old 90 had a weep when I used fully synth, 2 mates with TD5s experienced the same. No idea why but swapped back to semi and no weep no leak.

Maybe worth a try I guess, I use Fuchs Titan XTR fully synth and I do have a few weeps. Mainly front cam seal, rear half moon 1999 Defender TD5 110

Not arguing with your experience but seeing as semi-synth is a mixture of fully synthetic oil and mineral oil then the only way I can see that leaks wouldnt occur with semi synth is if the mineral oil content causes gaskets/seals to swell or soften. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Bought a cheap 5 litre pressurised sprayer (about £10) , take off the end spray nozzle and use this to fill up axle, gearbox etc oils. Works a treat.
good luck with it, I have done mine for last 4 years including coolant and belt. Once you have done it, book yourself some flights as you will probably have saved the money in labour costs |

If you use genuine oil filter I can recommend the filter spanner from paddocks etc as it makes removal a lot easier. Sadly doesn't fit all aftermarket filters.

The Genuine oil filter is the same as a Mann filter. My last genuine filter said Land Rover and Mann on it, been with Mann ever since
