End of warranty check, foc
My 110 is in having some new wheels and when I dropped it off I checked with the dealership when the warranty expires (14th Dec). They then offered a free check, which takes 2.5 hours, to see if anything needs doing under warranty, but it can only be booked one months before the end of the warranty period. This doesn’t sound like something JLR would do so what am I missing? Is this something they only do if you ask for an extended warranty? Has anyone else heard of this type of check?

Cheers

Sounds like a dealer looking for work on a vehicle then can then claim back from JLR on the warranty scheme themselves. no cost to customer and potential work for dealer. Cheers

Most main dealers of various brands do this. Of course they want to get work out of it, and likely the manufacturer is unlikely to be encouraging it, but take advantage of the offer and get it done!

I hadn’t thought of the dealership looking for warranty work but maybe that’s what is driving it.

I’ll book it in and see what happens. Thumbs Up

I have just phoned Inchcape in Norwich to see if they will do the same on my Nov.2015 and they were most indignant about doing anything "free".
No change there then to their usual attitude and their quote of £980 for a service after two years Big Cry 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue

That’s pants. Why should it be such a vastly different experience from one dealership to the next? I seem to recall Mercedes completely ripped up their dealership model a few years back and started again to try and get some consistency.

Hurrah, a set of 5 carefully painted wheels were fitted to my 110 today! The very helpful guy Dan at the dealership called me to say it was done.....but that the fitter hadn’t realised the bolts were short and had marked the wheels around each nut. You can’t make this Censored up. 8 months it has taken to get to this point, CRC have put their hand in their pocket to the tune of £700 to get a set of wheels properly painted and some complete chimp mangles them on first fitting. I’ve left it with them to sort out.

Funny old week.

That was rather rude about the "chimps"
I am sure the monkey house would be better organised and do a better job.

What made me laugh was the ‘could you come and have a look at them’. Err, no. If you’re telling me they are mangled, I’ll leave it with you. ‘What about the loan car?’ Well you can come and fetch it if you want.....15 minutes later a call to say we can hold on to the courtesy car until the 110 is done....

Why don’t these people think then do?

If they could do that they would have proper jobs with responsibility and pride in their work , something which appears to be lacking at the Main Agents of most makes Big Cry 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue

In fairness the main chap I’ve dealt with, Dan, has been a star. He helped me get CRC engaged, he rejected previous sets of wheels and he told me today that they had been marked when fitting. Fair one. It seems to be the managers that balls things up time and again. Nothing new there.
