Website "Not Secure": should we be concerned?

Not being a computer/website wizard, but is the "Not secure" in the website address something we should be worried about? Cheers Don.

It is OK, because we do not handle sensible data (for example credit card data) on defender2.net. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR

On the downside, your username and password are being passed without any encryption so make sure you don't use them anywhere else.
In addition, Google search downgrades sites that don't use https.

It's £10 per year to get a certificate and easy enough to apply.

You can get a secure certificate for free and with the adoption of SNI support in most browsers it doesn't even require a dedicated IP address any more.

That said, there's not really much to worry about unless you're using the same login details on other sites and even then it's probably a very low risk unless you use internet cafes and insecure public WiFi hotspots. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

It is something I am working on - it's on the "todo" list.

DISCO3 has been running SSL for a while.

Swapping over to SSL is not just a case of get a certificate and install it. There are lots of parts to the site which all interact, the site is "active" not just a set of static pages Wink  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

..as someone who worked in internet security industry, i would disagree with this, as, site may not contain such data but for sure is platform to transfer malicious content on to forum members computers, which could have such data and i suspect many
actually does..

Interesting, I recently received an Email stating that I had been hacked and that there was film evidence that I was watching porn that would be published unless I paid 800 bitcoins to an account. Usual rubbish that we all ignore, but it stated that it had my password that it quoted and it was the one I used for Def 2. Question Question and only for Def 2. 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue
