My 2011 Puma had corrosion on roof fixed by JLR. 6 year warranty - mine done in year 4. No quibble. Local Dealer took photos and got approval for work from JLR. All sorted in a matter of days.
I think problems only occur if it is stone chip damage or similar external damage. Unlikely on roof section, which are known problem areas. Try and pick a Dealer who is known to do good bodywork repairs if you can. |

My 2012 Defender had similar bubbling around the alpine windows, but no perforation.
I pointed it out at the year 5 corrosion inspection and it was sorted out under the warranty. The fact that it took many months to finally get it booked into an approved body workshop to have the work done is another story But the quality of the work done appeared to be excellent. |

thanks guys, just wondered what to expect when I approach them, it's starting on the windscreen surround too, no chips or damage to the paint on either area, it's a bit odd but there's obviously an issue, there's a new dealer opened up just down the road, i'll pop in next week

Before you go in to the Dealers go over your car carefully and list all the areas of concern to you. In my experience they will not point out problems for you.
Check gutters, windscreen surround, inside doors on the joints and alpine windows. These are the usual suspects. Less likely to be approved, but worth asking are the lower grill area, cills and rear cross member. |
