Saturday's green laning.
So on Saturday was another one of our green laning day's, so we all met up at Pottington, Barnstaple, there are 2 more landy's that are not in the pic, the white 90 and the series 3 ........................................

So we set off and we did a few lanes and then we started to come down this lane which goes through a farm and this beauty was parked up, not seen it there before ......................................

passed that and then we had to stop as the leader said we will have to look before we carry on, so getting out and making our way down to the front was a challenge Laughing .................................

All it was, was a few axle twisters that we had done loads of times Wink leader said it looked worse, but it was not Rolling Eyes

So we carried on down the lane and then did a few more and then we were on the lane that we stop for grub as there is a place to park all the landy's of the lane about halfway Very Happy

About 200yds from grub stop and this happened ............................................

Well and truly stuck Rolling Eyes he was straddling the gully and slipped of the right hand side, not concentrating enough he said Laughing
So after taking 2 hours to get the 90 out, the front wheels were not pointing the same way Shocked the steering arm had bent, so while the winch was being used, we tried straighten it in situ, got it so far but not all the way, so lucky it was just enough to drive it to the grub stop, then repairs could commence after some grub, finally Wink

So getting to it ..............................

nearly there ...........................

The steering arm finally off ................................

We use the ball hitch to straighten as we have done this before Wink best one is with a jaw, then you can put the pin in to help and the outcome is like this ..................................

So better than before it was put back on ................................

Did some more lanes with no more problems and then about 5.30pm ish we called it a day as the light was going and we did not want to chance our luck, we didn't make it to the end as we normally do, but we did have a great time, parked up and said all our good bye's until our next meet ........................................

Should have asked the Unimog owner to join in, but probably wouldn't fit. Laughing

That was quite a bend in that steering arm! Something else worth upgrading.
I guess that was caused by the steering force due to angle winching rather than impact. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Same here, mainly due to lack of accessible safe lanes though rather than not wanting to. So many are so short and always fly tipped on. So due to puncture risk I don’t use them. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Ahhh Clayton I am just jealous... I love the technical stuff and the problem solving side of off-roading. I do get a little laning done from time to time, just not as much as I would like;

https://youtu.be/CzX1pCsak68

This was only last week; a shorty but a good'un especially at night even with low water levels. Absolutely loving the new LED headlights whilst night laning.

and this was a month ago over the water on mainland Wales... Rolling Eyes Actually it was a gentle intro to laning for the three dogs on-board so nothing gnarly at all, just a gentle pootle, mug of coffee and a bite at the far end and back again...
