About three weeks from build week to delivery week I think - LR don’t give anything more accurate than a “week ending” date. Your order confirmation from the dealer should have the estimated handover date on it.

I got that email today also. I can’t get confirmation from dealer yet, but hopefully it will land on UK soil before 31/12. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

My build date is 5th Feb, with delivery expected early March, so as said about 3 weeks. Though mines may get held up trying to get into the UK. |

Mine is due in at the dealership on the 25th December. Had no emails or follow up phone calls as promised from salesman. Sent an email asking what the current status is and no reply. I have told them I want some things sorted on it before I take delivery seat protection, rubber floor mats and private reg transferred so all I can assume is that it is not on schedule and the dealership is so busy they can’t respond to emails I have to say this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced, my father has placed an order for new Mini Countryman and has had weekly update phone calls. I’m actually dreading having to deal with this garage if there’s any problems with the car.

My order confirmation from the dealer has the estimated handover date - 1st of December.
The build date was on the 14th of November. However, on the 26th of November, the vehicle was still at the factory due to a "logistic issue". Will probably give the dealer visit tomorrow as there is no phone/email response. The most annoying thing is that I wanted to modify the build at the end of October but the dealer said if I modify the build the vehicle with be delivered at the end of January however if I keep the original build I will definitely have the vehicle by mid-November. Now is mid December and I have no clue when the vehicle is going to be delivered. The worst customer service I have experienced. |

One thing my dealer says is delivery dates aren’t set in stone and are subject to change especially in the current climate.

I can fully understand delays, disruption and difficulties they have with Covid 19 but there is no excuse not to communicate and respond to customer emails/phone calls. If I had a basic response stating unfortunately the vehicle is delayed I would of accepted that. Just some sort of customer service would be nice whereas I’ve had nothing, they have taken a deposit and gone underground. Pretty disgraceful in my opinion. I guess I could cancel the order and walk away but I’m actually really looking forward to getting the new Defender so I’m stuck with this situation. The questionnaire you fill out with how was your sales experience will be getting zero for everything

Pirelli Develops Special Tire For Land Rover Defender: https://carbuzz.com/news/pirelli-develops-...r-defender
"... the Italian manufacturer has partnered with Land Rover to produce a special tire just for the new Defender. Pirelli says that the new tires offer best-in-class rolling resistance, which is always a benefit when you're trying to make vehicles as efficient as possible. ... Pirelli says that its new Scorpion Zero All Season ultra high performance tire is "designed to deliver excellent levels of comfort and safety" and reduces noise while providing maximum performance throughout any season, whether the road surface is dry or wet. New materials were used for the structure and compounds of the tire, and to ensure optimal performance, Land Rover tested the new tires "both uphill at a constant speed as well as sideways across the slope in order to assess lateral grip on wet grass." A new shoulder design and a double tread block help improve traction on mud, grass, and snow - something that Landy enthusiasts will surely appreciate. To ensure that the tires are truly capable in all conditions, a series of laboratory tests were followed by an outdoor program that consisted of tests in the UK's Malvern Hills, where the tires were tested on 66 miles of varied terrain. Following this, snow and ice testing took place in northern Sweden. Land Rover's Gaydon facility in England was then used to test soft handling and comfort while high speed and wet handling testing took place at the Nurburgring and at the Applus and Idiada facility in Spain. Pirelli's own Vizzola test track was also made use of. ... Is that a new story? Surely this type of testing was done in the pre-production phase.

Bet they did not test them on Salisbury Plain with all the flint in the ground. Not kind to week sidewalls. Once took a customer for a drive over a weekend as he had a Mk1 RRS and i told him it would be fine as no trees to hit. Got an email a few days later saying had a great time.........however slashed three tyres to the core and had to replace them |
