One of the 2 LR Assist guys should’ve found it or at least attempted to look for a fault.

Is there any difference between an LRA AA man and any other AA man? Different training or anything?

At £60.000 plus starting price for the new Defender, I would at least expect the inevitable AA call out to be made by a female wearing a uniform from Ann Summers.... 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Not sure if they have guys specially trained on LR products or if it’s just purely vehicle branding.

No but the woman on the other end of the phone had a rather seductive voice the last time I called them. |

I asked at the dealers, he said they are trained land rover people. |

"LR common faults and their solutions*" ~ that's got to be a 3 month residential course then. (* excludes water ingress solutions) |

Which could explain it ... Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

Interesting rendering from defendermods on what they believe a Defender in the Australian wilds would
look like.. that front bar looks totally inadequate for dealing with a Kangaroo strike if both of you are at full tilt. https://carbuzz.com/news/turn-your-2020-la...off-roader Click image to enlarge yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

My question was a sincere one. As far as I can tell, they appear to be dressed as AA staff, look like AA staff, and arrive in ordinary AA vans, and I rather assumed that LRA had simply subbed the roadside work to the AA, lock stock and barrel. If they are specially trained, does this mean that only certain AA staff can go on an LRA call-out? If so, presumably waiting times are or may be longer since there may not be a specially-trained LRA-AA person available. I seem to recall, although I never had to call on LRA services, that when I bought my Disco2 new in 2002 it was at the very least a branded operation, and it was an LRA van that would turn up. |

It used to be a guy in a Disco, with customer service plastered on the side, that turned up. Now I think it’s just whoever’s in the area, I’m sure they aim to be there in the hour. The last I called them it was neither, the local recovery agent came out.

Last time I called LRA out was 30 months ago to a dead RRS, she ( yes a female technician) arrived at my house in an LRA Customer Services liveried Disco4 but was wearing an AA uniform. She was dreading loosing her D4 but it was being returned to LR to be replaced by a VW van painted Yellow.......
I insure with NFU Mutual and a couple of weeks ago they gave me 2 x subs to RAC complimentary - one sub for each policy. Would be interesting to call out RAC to the new car and see if they can fix things any better...... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |
