What really concerns me is that JLR actually sanctioned this aberration for public consumption...it's horrific! Since 1973...S1, Air Portable's, Defender's, but only my Wolf TUL HS GS remains |

Unfortunately I think that you will find that that level of “individualism” is all part of The Prof’s gameplay to put the aftermarket kit suppliers out of business - and I’m afraid that there are people out there who want that sort of look - why else would Kahn and so on still be in business Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Has anyone had any experience in getting a Part Ex value for their Defender against the new one? It isn’t something I’m considering, I just wondered whether they have been given some sort of directive to offer a decent price to get “the community” in the new model?

I think it's what Prince Charles would call a carbuncle. |

I think they've been given a directive to give a decent price to just about anyone who shows the slightest interest...the vehicle is not going to sell itself. |

I think the Lego version looks better.
Plot completely lost as far as I am concerned. - Far too expensive to buy. - Not enough load space in either 90 or 110 form. - Overly complex. - No doubt expensive to maintain. - All heritage lost. I'm sure it will be a great Discovery 4 replacement and I wish all those who buy one the very best. But it's not for me. The more I see, the more I also lose interest. |

Starting price in my country for 110 Base model is about €75k including VAT.
Since I can deduct VAT for the vehicle for “business purposes” so it would cost me €60k. Or around £55k. To this I would add all things off-road worthy. Rear locker, winch, raised intake etc. Definitely Diesel engine, but I’m not sure how to decide between 200HP and 240HP model. Since those two are essentially the same engine, probably better to go with 200HP as it is running farther from the upper limit and therefore should be more reliable (at least that’s logic in my world, haven’t got a clue how it’s in JLR world ) Not that I wouldn’t say no to the extra 20% power, even though I haven’t seen torque curve comparison. So essentially mine would be as basic as humanely possible with maximum off-road “goodies” - and with that I’ve got to 65-ish thousand pounds without VAT... I can afford it on 5 year leasing scheme, but not so much if it breaks often, so hopefully it won’t And I intend to put it through some serious stuff without much holding back. Otherwise I would take Disco Sport or whatever. So... que sera, sera... |

Anyone else noticed what looks like a step behind the rear seats in the 90 - as in the rear seats don't fold completely flat as they do in the 110.
Click image to enlarge Also as a thought, will it be ultimately annoying to deck it out with a drawer system knowing the battery is under the floor and not easily accessible in an emergency or to add addition accessories? Over to you |

Main battery is under the right front seat. On the MHEV system the 48V battery is under the rear floor
Maybe the step is for one without the MHEV stystem? |
