(MAHWAH, NJ) - August 28, 2019 - Land Rover has given a first glimpse of the New Defender ahead of its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10.
The road to reveal for the Land Rover brand’s most capable and durable 4x4 started in one of the most land-locked locations on earth, among the towering nearly (1,000 ft) 300m canyons of the Valley of the Castles in the remote Charyn Canyon, Kazakhstan.
Across seven decades of pioneering innovation, Land Rover vehicles have earned a unique place in the hearts of explorers, humanitarian agencies and adventurous families across the world. Proven in the harshest environments on earth, the New Defender maintains this bloodline.
Beside the peerless luxury and refinement of the Range Rover family and the highly capable and versatile Discovery SUVs, the New Defender completes the Land Rover dynasty.
Driven by a passion and respect for the original, the New Defender delivers transformational breadth of capability and advanced all-terrain technologies to redefine adventure for the 21st century, while remaining true to the pioneering spirit that has been a Land Rover hallmark for 71 years. 2

• Tune into the Land Rover brand’s YouTube and Facebook channels to watch the global reveal of the New Land Rover Defender at 4:00 AM EDT (09:00 BST/10:00 CEST) on September 10.

Yes that's the one , that was on the flat bed truck and we know they have the support of a Toyota Land Cruiser ,

carrying the camera gear and doing the pack horse stuff ,

Also carrying the diagnostic equipment to clear the screens of all them pesky warning lights !

The Toyota as back up vehicle ,

Much like series and Defenders of old !!

Rolling with laughter

ha, yes I posted that Toyota photo up here in the first place, knowing it would get a laugh hmm.

How else would you propose the get a fully blanketed car to the deep valleys of kazakhstan? Heli drop it for the shoot? you paying? Laughing

Using your logic Landrover should also start a filming company and use LR's like top gear, just so that they can be seen filming a defender with a defender, hmm.

The defender should also cary its own gear for filming and film itself before its actually released?

I suppose you also think that an aston martin should film an aston martin in Bond 25? and carry all the gear as well? Rolling with laughter

All jokes aside, The toyota would be a great camera car no doubt, good choice for the filming company. However air I feel would take the load better, be more comfortable and be more stable for the shoot. Cool

Looks like the Toyota broke down anyway unless it can fly, jokes im sure we will see more video from this shoot Thumbs Up

Lend them free of charge , one of their products ?

Maybe the film crew said , Nah

Haha..then they regretted it after seeing it handle the rough stuff with ease and the cruiser broke down and had to bring in the drone cam. #carma Rolling with laughter

Jokes aside, the cost to outfit a film car would prob be 2 or 3 defenders so nah, but they will probs have a fleet of them after filming it all the while green with envy Mr. Green

going back at this, one of the lads on one of the land rover groups recons its not the real thing, he said aston martin did something similar.
I saw a photo of the later discovery I think its disco 3? which has a very similar bonnet to this, and sort of look. So I am wondering if it is one done up, for the movie set. After all it will may have all sorts of tricky stuff for the film. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

The big question is - Epsom, Tonga or Aintree Green? Will they be available instead of the present selection of washed out shades of grey / black, although Madagascar Orange would be nice (were it not so expensive) ....... and a bit scary for horses Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
