just had an idea that this Mod would help this security issue,
http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?option=c...;Itemid=81 used this thread as there is a pic, seems there is a purpose made kit available. |

Land rover fit anti-removable screws on D4 commercials to stop you converting them back...very good bit of kit Mike

Just emailed extreme 4x4 to see if they do a strut kit for the Puma TDCi and got this reply.
Doesn't seem too bad to me (well, not compared to come of their prices....). HTH Craig |

Reasonably priced piece of kit. By the looks of it - easily fitted AND easily removed. Don't think this would be too difficult to overcome. Might stop the opportunist but not the determined.

Just an idea!
![]() ![]() An aluminium block, suitably shaped and painted, bolted to the top of the bonnet with security bolts, fitted to the rear of the bonnet that stops the bonnet going vertically by butting up against the bulkhead / windscreen so that it cannot be lifted off? This would allow normal operation but not removal without removal of the block. The block could be red in colour as a visible deterrent or colour matched to vehicle. |

I was just wondering if a bonnet lock from a stage1 V8 would be worth fitting?. I used to drive one years ago and i'm sure it needed a key to open it. 130 crew cab

I don't think the Puma front panel and bonnet in their standard form have the provision for fitting one of these, unfortunately. I did look into this briefly myself and came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be as straightforward as one might expect. |

Was trying to describe this in words, but was easier to dig out the photo...
![]() Click image to enlarge The bonnet stay on my haggard old 90 was permanently attached to the bonnet and the body, can't remember how it was attached as I never needed to remove the bonnet, found it a lot easier than messing around with the current bonnet stay and it stops the bonnet being lifted high enough to be removed.....? |

Old defender bonnets were attached by a split pin either end.
I hated those lethal things, from a number slamming shut unless they had a wheel on them to weight the down Mike |

Quote from the eBay listing "if you got a silver jeep , you can just put it straight on ,and will make you jeep stand out" Sure will, you'll have the only Jeep in the world with a Landrover bonnet! |
