I drove XZL throughout the last snowy winter we had down south, 2013 I think it was. Had absolutely no problems in the snow. Admittedly I didn’t use any fast roads, but steep hills were no bother at all, nor were deep drifts. XZL seem to hold a lot of snow in the tread, and nothing sticks to snow better than snow, as the snow-sock idea demonstrates.

Hi,
I used to have XZLs on our 110- they were great in the snow! Chris |

I switch from my regular 255/85 BFG KM2s to 7.50 XZL when snow is forecast. Much better snow performance, plus they are that little bit smaller thereby allowing tyre chains to be fitted without destroying the bodywork.
I actually rate the XZL very highly, it is an extremely good traditional tyre. |
