A chap on the Isle of Wight is breaking, yes breaking, a series III 1-ton. Considering there are only about half a dozen of these vehicles left on the road, it needs to be saved, not broken up!
The winch, gearbox and dash clocks are gone, but I think the rest of it is there. The guys ebay account is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LANDROVER-SERIES-3-L...mp;afsrc=1 which seems to be the best way to get hold of him - this is a message we had today - "hi, i am well aware how rare these vehicles are i was going to restore this myself the chassie is to much work for me so i have decided to break for spares so that other 1 ton landrover enthusiasts have the opportunity to purches bits that are hard to find winch and gear box have already been sold along with the clocks every thing else is still availible perhaps we could strike adeal you would have to come and collect it if not i will be listing on ebay " Well there we have it, there is still opportunity to save it (someone PLEASE save it!!!) Must be of interest to someone, even as a restoration project. Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
