Yes, it has gone insane recently. I have been ringing around for business quotes, and some of them wanted thousands and thousands per year. Thankfully I eventually got one that was reasonable and affordable, and actually offered better cover. All anyone can suggest is keep trying different companies... 2011 110 USW

Not sure what you call ridiculous, But i insured my TD5 90 CSW last week.
15K Miles per year, social, commuting + Business Use Im 24 with 5 years no claim + my Girlfriend 26 (both no crashes etc) on a joint policy with Admiral came out at £450 for the year (guaranteed NCD protected) Thought that was ok. Was about the same as last year, but i did have to swap to a different insurer as the one i used last year wanted £680 for the same cover. I got the same price as you from Admiral on a joint policy.
In total £870 for a 2004 Volvo V70 D5 AWD and a 2004 90 TD5 SW. |

Big Black was £640 for this last year with Swiftcover, which was the cheapest I could get it. It really doesn't help that where I live is in the same postcode area as a town rife with insurance scams. When I was phoning round for quotes one company (can't remember who it was off the top of my head) said that they don't insure in my postcode area anymore!
The cheapest quote I got for the Astra was £710. I had an Astra before the Landy and I was only paying £300 a year to insure that! Big Black's renewal isn't due for another three months, but if worst comes to worst I'm debating taking Big Black off the road and running a crap box until things settle down a bit, the Lightweight might even possibly be back on the road by then too so could have a summer of running that... I did consider getting rid for a few seconds, but then realised that was a silly idea! |

£530 through Aviva via Footman & James Includes business cover & unlimited mileage. Adrian Flux and Footman & James didin't have a listing for a later SW just a 110 TDi The guy had to override the system and put in a TDCi XS SW 110 manually |

£480 f/c if I remember correctly for my 90 with Adrian Flux, including green lane and none competitive off road cover.
I got some discount because of the factory alarm/immobiliser and some for club membership. Chris. |
