Leaking lower swivel pin
I have a leak from my lower swivel pin which I need to fix. I have bought the relevant gasket but I'm not sure if its ok to just remove the pin. clean, fit new gasket and re-fit the lower pin. Is it as straight forward as that or is some sort of disaster likely to happen? I should mention its a Discovery 1 axle if that makes any difference?

It is as straightforward as that. Remember to put a bowl underneath to catch the oil/grease that will flow out and get yourself a pack of 'one shot' grease to refresh the swivel lube afterwards.

Also support the hub assembly too so the top swivel is not taking all the weight

Preload is adjusted with shims on the top swivel so you shouldn't need to readjust that if you're only playing with the bottom swivel.

Go for it - 20 minute job from getting the jack out to putting the jack away again Thumbs Up
