90 side steps
I'm getting ear ache from my girl friend getting in/out of the defender again so it looks like i'm going to take off the sliders and put a set of side steps on.

This seems to be the best deal, zinc plated; http://www.mps4x4store.co.uk/Product/10493...QT-FI90EZC

Any better deals out there before I pull the trigger? 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

I am of no help to you, but am also looking to replace my beat up, heavily corroded side steps.
There are so many people selling very similar (if not identical) steps.

kit, they look pretty good, very similar to the original items, but slightly different in that the originals have a chequreplate top "step".
I like O.E. myself, but probably a bit dearer.
If you look in my gallery you'll see them fitted.

Yours are different pickles, the ones i've posted are a copy of the LR fire and ice steps, also the OE items weren't zinc plated/galvanized (as far as I know) which is why allot of them rot so badly. Although annoyingly they haven't seen fit to zinc plate the brackets Confused 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

I bought some from M&M for Alan.. they weren't the Zinc coated ones though. I sprayed Dinitrol inside the big tube so that has remained in good condition.. After nearly 2 years the powder coat is starting to lift on the tread plate itself, around where the rubber pokes through..The design of the step does tend to hold water on its surface. I treated the welds on the brackets to a bit of Dinitrol too as they were just starting to show a bit of rust colouring.. Overall I think they have lasted ok...Altohough Alan does live in the garage and only does around 4000 miles a year. As is common with Land rover extras they lack the longevity and quality we would all like but don't get unless we pay extortionate amounts for them. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

Unfortunately its not solid rubber.. the metal bit is held on with rivets so I suppose it could be removed and refinished.. Rolling Eyes 1993 200Tdi Defender 90
