I am looking at Safety devices. I haven't heared much about them since they went Polish though, so am waiting to hear reports on them before buying.
The P&P cages are nice but in comparrison to the SD ones they don't contain as much for the same price, eg internal hoops, and they don't seem to be of as strict tollerences. Glyn |

Are you planning to install it yourself or get an independent to do the job for you.
The 90s i will self install but with the 110 only being a year old i reckon ill get a specialist. Ive not heard much about safety sytems either but did peruse there site. If it aint broke its just waiting. |

The prices I got were as follows:
P&P The price for a Full External cage for the MY2009 Double Cab pick up is £1455+vat. The delivery is extra, or you could have the cage fitted here at an additional cost of £720+vat. We also have fitting centres dotted around the country. Frogs Island We can supply and fit and the cost of the cage will be £1400.00 and the labour to fit will be £1600.00. Both prices exclude VAT. This puts me on the fence, as I like the SD cage but don't want to pay the £1600+VAT for fittng. At the moment I am thinking about fitting it myself as it will then just cost £1400+VAT, and a few days of my time and probably a few crates for the lads that help me. Glyn |

For my 110 (station Wagon Utility) I was quoted 1250 for the external and 850 to fit (+vat on both)
they also sent contact details of an agent local to me who could install The 90 was quoted as 990 +Vat - didnt enquire about installing If it aint broke its just waiting. |

It will be P&P for me , they do a lot of work with LR developement.
I will be taking my 90 TDV6 there for a T45 full external cage in the next few weeks. Pete |

Quite expensive
I recieve last year a quote from a small workshop dedicated to make accesories for Defenders In Mendoza, Argentina (200 k from Santiago). They produce long internal roll cages (a copy of a well known ones) at a cost of ~ 300 BP (not installed). May be will be a good business to export it to GB [URL=http://g.imageshack.us/img189/dsc07848p.jpg/1/] Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

I second that . I need convincing that their cages are great as it will end up much cheaper for me to get a P&P cage . I jut don't want to end up with a cage like the one for sale at Eastnor where I could have fit my head between the roof and the cage Glyn |

I have a P&P external on my 110 CSW (there's some pics on this forum somewhere). got an internal hoop as well.
It fits very well. like Pete says, nice and tight to the bodywork. I fitted mine myself, although i was building the 110 at the time also, but that would have had no effect on it anyway as all the bodywork was fitted by the time i got around to the cage. very easy, just take your time. I reckon you'd have a 90 done easily in a weekend. just one thing... if you get a P&P one, ignore the template they give you to drill the holes for mounting the hoops.... just fit the rear crossmember brackets and then work your way forwards. I have 4 holes nicely in the wrong place due to that. I put some M8 bolts in to fill them, but it's still very annoying. |
