[SOLD] 1965 Land Rover Series 2a Project - Galv Chassis
I'm considering putting my Series 2a meccano set up for sale and thought i'd list here first. It has inboard lights and is a station wagon.

I purchased it from a chap on the series 2 club forum around 5 years ago, rather than repairing the rusty chassis, he had dismantled it and fitted a Richards galvanised chassis and bulkhead, then been unable to complete the project. I have too many other projects and I can't see me getting time to finish it either!

It has a reconditioned engine with a Turner engineering unleaded head fitted and many other new parts, including Rocky Mountain door tops, stainless exhaust, Exmoor trim seats etc. It needs painting and putting back together, so if you've got the time and skill there is a great profit to be made. There are two files of history with the vehicle and the rear is full of parts!

Please let me know if your're interested and we can discuss on the phone, there is too much to list!

I'd be looking for 5k firm. The previous owner assured me that all parts are there apart from brake lines and wiring loom!

Thanks

I’ve added a few (terrible) photos, I can get some better ones at the weekend if required, she’s very dusty and buried at the back of my barn!

A little beyond my reach unfortunately I think but... does it have the early type dash like below or the later one? Whistle

Just for info, it isn't actually a Station Wagon, but a Hard Top into which someone has fitted some side windows.

Based on the pictures I would have said it could originally have been a soft top or 3/4 tilt which has had a hardtop fitted, and at some stage side windows were fitted to the hardtop.

It is a great project though, if I had the space, time, and cash I'd be sorely tempted!

It will certainly make a great project for someone, and as others have said I’m very tempted but I would question your comment that there is “a great profit to be made”
To finish assembling, wiring and painting involves many hours of labour and materials. People often underestimate the time and costs involved, hence all the unfinished projects on eBay.
Good luck with the sale it’s a great project, but great profit, I’m not so sure.
