I haven’t done yet, but my intention is to try before my next big trip. I’m going to try to make a “sock” out of fish tank filter media to fit over the grille on the wing top intake vent.It’ll be hidden by a snow cowl once in place. I don’t expect it will filter fine pollution and pollen but should help cut down on dust and should be washable if it gets clogged. I got the idea from those socks you can put on top of a safari snorkel. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

You will also want in that case to make sure that the duct from the wing-top vent actually connects to the unit containing the fan motor on the bulkhead, since it is quite common for there to be a gap big enough to stick your fingers through at the joint.
