Hello
Its been a while I've not treated my truck to any bits other than service items as i'm spending too much time on the series... However I would like to change the wing top vents. I have an Optimil side vent and its great, looks very smart but the wing tops are £162 a pair So quick google found these... https://uproar4x4.com/products/land-rover-...roar-4x4-2 More than half the price at £75 a pair. Then these at £45 a pair (but plastic) http://defenderupgrades.co.uk/product/land...ents-pair/ Any other options? I prefer the metal finish rather than plastic. Do the snow cowl things actually serve a purpose, so could get one of them and a top. Any pictures of what you have all good My truck is all Black so like that theme... Click image to enlarge |

The snow cowls serve a purpose on the passenger side, as they keep rain and crud out of the heater duct. They're pointless on the drivers side (as is any sort of grill) unless the engine air intake has been modded to use that opening. Darren

That does look very nice, albeit at a price.
https://www.landroverdefendersecurity.com/...able-guard I secured my existing blanking plate with bolts and nylock nuts, which makes it nigh-on impossible to remove with the bonnet down. It is still plastic, though. Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? They also stop overnight snow fall from building up on top of/inside the heater intake. |

They look a bit restrictive for a heater intake.
*edited, because the "billet" comment has disappeared* These are just a sheet of aluminium with a few louvres pressed into it. The screws aren't even counter bored to get the heads below the surface. That's because it's impossible to do with a thin sheet of material. £125 a pair is ridiculous. Last edited by DSC-off on 25th Sep 2018 6:05pm. Edited 1 time in total |

They really are machined from solid.
The difference is obvious. |

I think the 110technik ones are louvred to work like the KBX hi-force - just a aluminium version instead.
IMHO I quite like them https://www.flickr.com/photos/153177173@N0...729383001/ I couldn't find any reference to billet one their website... |
