I know it's a bummer thinking that someone in or connected to our circle of enthusiasts goes around to specialist shows and our driveways and steals whatever and from where ever they can. BUT it's an even bigger bummer knowing that members of our fraternity are prepared to purchase "cheap" spares and not ask where they have come from. It's these people that create the market, it's one set of scum bags supplying the demand of another set of scumbags. Defender 90XS SW

Sadly I think thieves class shows as ‘target rich environments’ and it must be like Christmas for them with so many opportunities to steal parts and/or vehicles.
The security employed at shows never seems to be effective - more interested in enforcing ticket/entry to show rather than protecting the vehicles and stock from the thieves. I hope the Police/Land Rover community can track down these scum and Dan gets some justice. |

Really not good news that Dan, I'd say it is quite likely that they're still on site as it's unlikely to have been a day visitor at that time of night.
We visited yesterday and were quite comforted to see that in the Defender parking we were checked in and checked out with a password only known to us. I did panic a bit when I saw several trucks without spares but I guess not everyone takes one and perhaps some removed theirs knowing they could be stolen. I'm a long time VW camper owner, have visited numerous events, and I have to say we don't normally have this kind of thing going on (at least not that I am aware of) however they do normally keep trade and clubs/visitor camping very seperate. Not all security guards are as honest as some. Most are drafted in from an agency and in some cases, relevant checks are not carried out. Perhaps it is time for companies who sell their goods at such events to start complaining loudly to the organisers about security, after all, the amount charged to hire a pitch is not cheap so the least you would expect is proper security. Am sorry to hear about Duckworth loss.
Security is every honest person concern. How often do you see on different social media sites item X is wanted but as cheap as possible? That is people pandering to the thieving scumbags as they are providing a ready outlet for the thieving scumbags. Have just seen and reported a Defender item which I am pretty sure is stolen as the reason for the sale, description and photographs did not stack up. When you see adverts such as selling on behalf of my mate as he has sold his 2015 plate Defender and here are his spardoors, bonnets etc. So he has sold his Defender without a bonnet?. Everyone needs to be vigilant. Brendan |

Sorry for the loss,
Its really irritating knowing that: Its Land rover owner who just wants Free parts/ Make a Profit. Some ****hat Went to a show just to steal LR parts just to sell them back to the LR community. Just an theft of opportunity. Either way i think thieving is morally reprehensible, i can't Physically see why & how they can be so immoral. I hope the ***** Gets caught and hope you get suitable justice.
