We used an ML to tow with but it was an older model, cant recall the age but it was the 2.7 engine with auto box and it was brilliant at towing a 6.4 twin axle caravan.

I've no idea either, but I didn't post a picture laden reply about Jeeps.
Your reply literally had no relevance to the original question. |

The Internet is full of irrelevant answers. I generally just ignore them. I am sure no harm was meant. To the poster, it clearly is something he feels worthy of note. V8 90...WIP

No I don't think any harm was meant either, I just found it mildly amusing.

There is a link the Jeep has a ML floor plan and suspension ,early models had the Mercedes engine too ,when I was looking to replace the Range Rover I looked at the ML but found the Jeep a better buy .

Had one for about 7 years and covered over 300k miles in it around Europe. Great for towing although I had had mine chipped. Just a basic chip, nothing as specialised as BAS or Alives, Etc... Only problem is when things start going wrong its best to get rid otherwise you will end up with some pretty big bills. And if you think Landrover Dealers are bad I can assure you it is nothing compared to Mercedes dealers. They are absolute thieves. I had to go legal twice to get issues resolved. Once when they said there was nothing wrong with the gearbox despite it losing drive when the dealer's mechanic(sorry, they don't employ mechanics... I will refer to them as technicians and that is very loosely!) drove it and second when they tried to charge me £ 7k for a blown engine when they hadn't even inspected it. Two incidents which I regret never going to Trading Standards with!
I do miss the comfort, smoothness, quietness, but would I sell the Defender and get an ML? No Way! I don't say that because I love the Defender, its just that when all things are considered there is nothing that comes close to the Defender |

I had a ML350CDi a few years back,
Lovely car and towed our van well, it had lots of options such as the air suspension.... but when things go wrong even at a specialist parts costs a lot. It even had the off road pack, apparently very rare with locking diffs etc. I'm guessing it would have been ok off road as it had the Air suspension it went quite high. Very easy to drive, column auto took a bit of getting used to. |
