What is the normal battery drain while a Puma is parked?
I am receiving 0.03-0.06 Ampers. Is that expected? Charging a mobile phone increses the power consumption to 0.18-0.2A. Bergos LR Defender 110 HT 2007 (2.4 Puma) https://www.facebook.com/LR.Wanderlust/ |

My Ultragauge takes 35mA and everything else takes an additional 5mA for a total of 40mA. The split might be a little off but that's roughly correct. I haven't measured with the alarm on. My tracker is running from my second battery and I don't know how much that takes.
As for how long it will take to drain the battery, I was away in November for 3 weeks and it fired up first time at less than zero on a 7 year old battery. A couple of winters prior to that I left it for 2 weeks with the same plus the tracker and it was fine. Doing the maths, my Defender seems happy cold starting once I've drained something like 20Ah out of the battery. I don't know I'd want to go much below that but allegedly cranking amps don't fall off too much until you get to about 40-50% depth of discharge. A load of 200mA would still give you 4 days or more. |
