Not a normal occurrence...

In saying that having had my heater box out to fit air con recently I was surprised how dirty it was in there. I suppose a lot of it comes from dirt getting into the wing top grille and being sucked in.

One thing that did happen to me the other day was my little one whacked the heater control over to hot (the a/c had been on cold for some time) - I heard an instant tssss sound and the cab filled with steam as the heat (engine very hot) melted the frozen moisture. Not normal. Possibly foam in the system breaking down or dirt in the system which has dried out in the heat.
Start by checking and if necessary cleaning out your wing top grill/intake. Most likely dried leaves.

This is the primary reason that I have a 'snow' cowl fitted - to keep crud out of the intake duct.

It's debris in the duct, there are three rubber drains on the ducting.
I've cleaned mine and still got leaves mainly dried up Yew leaves. Rolling Eyes

I'm hoping to fit another foam seal, but surprise surprise looking more of a pain than I bargained for especially with baking sun on my back.
What's the best way of freeing up room to double up the duct to fan foam gasket?
I've removed the black metal bracket and the wingtop vent and fixings, I can get at it just but more room would have been nice.
