2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Keswick Green

Switching the alarm off

Following on from my charging issue can someone tell me how to disable the alarm to disconnect the battery (PM probably better) as need to remove the battery and woke up the little one yesterday (I was not popular!)

You need to disconnect the battery earth lead within 15 seconds of turning off the ignition, so as follows:

1. Put key in ignition, ready.
2. Slacken nut on earth lead terminal.
3. Reach over and turn key to position II for a few seconds.
4. Turn key off again and, within 15 seconds, remove terminal from battery.

This is described in the handbook and is not a secret. Darren
