Now with tints....c/o Pentagon in Reading (no affiliation but super job and highly recommend them if you are local).
Light smoke to front and midnight behind the B pillar, to rear and roof lights (not full limo, but I think it looks right). Still haven't got rid of that grille..... Click image to enlarge |

Like the colour but good call on losing the SVX grill. Darren

Thank you! Have been reading posts for a couple of years and so should have got round to this sooner.
Re: the SVX grille - I take it you don't want to buy it?! Click image to enlarge It gives me the horrors....simply doesn't sit right. I've got the grille surround and lower grille from defenderupgrades.co.uk that I'm spraying up at the moment in Aintree Green and have my eye on the heritage style grille and light surrounds in black from Nakatanenga. And a BAS remap - absolutely transformed by old 2.4 USW, despite adding the remap after 165,000 miles. Roofrack and ladder (that were never installed to the USW due to a building project). Then maybe I'll get enough from selling the XS grille and the dual finish alloys by buy some black ZUs.... |

Good god, no I don't want to buy it! It is called an SVX grill, though. The XS grill is the same as a standard one but painted Brunel grey like this one:

Welcome to D2N.
Smart looking motor. Interested to see how it looks with a colour coded grill and what other mods you make. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Let's see a photo when you've changed the grille. Have to agree that SVX grille looks hideous. Defender 90XS SW

Thanks, all.
The original LR grille surround wasn’t too bad cost wise....I’ve spent more in paint and time but it’s ready to go on. I’m aiming to remove the SVX front end this weekend. I need to fix the lower grille. Pop rivets? So will drill and fix that and may need to trim some edges but will post photos as I go. If anyone (?!) is after a genuine LR SVX grille, lights, harness adaptors and back plates, let me know. So I'm not sure why I chose the hottest day of the year for this but....SVX front end removed.
Click image to enlarge Looks better already. The inner headlight brackets need dismantling for the headlight bowls and rings but the brackets will go with the SVX grille when its sold. Click image to enlarge The SVX wiring differs; there's an additional loom for the SVX driving lamps (in the corrugated conduit) and the indicators are at the top, rather than the bottom: Click image to enlarge This needs removing and the indicator and side light wires swapped over. I haven't stripped it out completely as is fed through a separate relay and works off the high beam so could be used for additional driving lights later. Click image to enlarge Original headlight bowls back in and Nakatanenga heritage back plates added along with Wipac smoked led indicator and sidelights; this took some drilling into the body as the SVX setup must have been installed from new: Click image to enlarge Trucklite Gen 2 LED headlights and the Nakatanega surrounds in: Click image to enlarge And the grille surround - now sprayed Aintree Green - also with a Nakatanega heritage grille: Click image to enlarge And installed: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I think I'm happy with it; some fettling to do; I'm not convinced the lights are completely level (they're split horizontally across the centre and I need to get out in the dark and adjust the beam height). But better?
