Had a bit of a weekend off, so got some projects done which have been piling up over the last year or so on the Defender.
Got the webasto fuel system plumbed in and just need to sort the coolant system and wiring next. Stripped the headlliner and silent coated the ceiling and wheel boxes then covered with 3 mm adhesive acoustic foam. Lastly, missed my fold down rear step for the kids after installing the NAS style rear step, so fabbed up an adapter to have the best of both worlds. Also sand blasted the rear step, POR 15 coated, then top coated then replaced the long pivot bolt with stainless after coating everything in ceramic grease and added a new genuine spring. Hopefully it will last a little longer functionally than the original. Patrick Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

How do you find the silent coat?

I think it mak3s a big difference.
I also added the 3mm adhesive over the top and another 10mm accoustic panel floating between the headliner and the 3mm just over the front seats. I now need to do the footwells and expect that to make another big diference. Cheers Patrick |
