There are kits available, doesn't seem too hard, but not done myself. Others on here have though, so hopefully comment soon. James

OEM Developments sell whole seat packages as Factory fit LR Defender seats for great prices.
As cheap as a leather kit and original parts. Worth a look. |

I did it on an old Frontera once. I've also replaced the drivers seat covers/foams on my Defender.
It's not especially hard, although fiddly in places. Defender ones are quite a bit easier than modern car seats. You'll probably find you need new foams as they fall apart with age when you take the old covers off, and the heaters are glued to the foam. I found the metal hog rings they use are more hassle than they're worth, you're better off just using some small cable ties. They're much easier to fit and remove in future and you don't need the special pliers for them. |
