Not sure about terrafirma but I use military spec ones. The holes are already present on a factory crossmember and the bold straight on.

I've got the Terrafirma ones and they just bolt thru the cross member with existing holes.

99.9% of bumperettes are designed to fit existing holes in crosssmember using bolts and nuts to fit threough the crossmember .There is one that requires you to modify the rear corner of the defender but the name escapes me ......i have safari equipment ones you can see the bolts in the picture.

At the rear the TF bump..are a little to close close to the back of the truck i personally think you are better off with greater stand off which will give better protection..see the SE ones above they stand off much further!Ps its only an opinion! |

I don't disagree they are close so wouldn't take much of a knock and are a nightmare to clean behind, but they look much better than above SE ones
 Also i picked them up 2nd hand off a forum member at a good price so quite happy with them  James

hi jow 2 i didnt mean to dis your bumpers .....you like them and nowt wrong with that...and i have no idea what the OP wants from his bumoerettes......when i was looking for rear corner protectors i wanted the best protection married with the longesrt lasting materials and looks were secondary to me ( although i do like the agricultural look).......ii personally believe that the SE bumperettes are a soilid bit ok kit that will last for years even with patchy rubber coating....aesthetics i leave up to the individual..what make of bumperette does the forum member have on his defender now?

i purchased terrafirma for my 90 but had to send them back as they were poorly made, one hit the body the other was close, on inspection they were not square DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I've heard that whilst there are no problems with 110, there may be some issues with some bumperettes fitting 90s?

Hello,
I can't remember the problems with the mounting on a 90ty. The fixing points are completely the same, the bumperettes for the 90ty are a little bit shorter and the inclination angel is more steeply. For the mud flaps there must be a little bit space to fit them (photo). Sometimes the rear crossmember is a little bit bended to the front. Markus |

I would like to know the issues pickles ?Is it the fact if you have seats in the back you will have to use the same bolt as the seat anchor .if its that i dont see that as much of an issue to be honest you just have to make sure the bolt passes through the anchor..its a little fiddly but if i managed it anyone can!...The only other issue is the mudflaps the SE bumperettes have a cut out to accomodate this i assumed most do.... but maybee not?Off road and in a slow speed dunch with a eurobox or more likely a car door iin a supermarket carpark these bumperettes are going to save you moneyand are well worth it. |

nitram,...I don't have them fitted, but I'm sure that I've read on this forum that some bumperettes would not use the original crossmember bolts holes & required some modification on a 90?...Maybe other members can say more?

Terrafirma ones are great. Got mine after someone did a lot damage to my vehicle while it was parked. these would have saved it.

I had the TF ones on my 90, very pleased with them, easy to fit and looks good imo,
 but had to remove them when I fitted a spare wheel carrier as they share the same fixing holes in the rear crossmember. Time is precious, waste it wisely...

Hi,
ask your metal shop - the bumperettes can be modificated. I cut them if our customers have mounted a wheel carrier like the mantec one. Surely we cut them b e f o r e the powdercoating
