I have a Naka wheel carrier and a Maxxraxx 5 bike rack,
You need the biggest spacer available to move the rack out but it WILL fit. I have the 60mm one going from memory but could show a photo if you like. Dave |

How do you solve the issue that the number plate is not visible with each of those carriers? When loaded with bikes of course.

By the use of a trailer board, Eric.
I realise that the OP's question was really about the strength of the wheel carrier than the bike rack itself, which doesn't seem to have a definitive answer and I can't help with. As far as the carrier itself goes though, I can highly recommend the offering from Fabbri Gringo. This is an excellent bit of kit that clamps and locks onto the spare wheel and then supports the bikes on two docking channels and swivel arm mounted clamps. No tools are required to fit it and there's no faffing around with bungees or straps to secure the bikes to it. It can even be converted to carry skis or snow boards if you're that way inclined, with the optional kits shown HERE. for the Fabbri Gringo - we use it with a naka wheel carrier and it's great. Only addition is one short bungee between the top of the bike rack and the roof rack - just keeps it from bopping around so much.

I bought the maxxrack, which is excellent in and of itself. But my intention was also to be able to use it with our camping trailer, but unfortunately it snags with the jockey wheel so I'm looking for another solution. Does anyone know if the Naka rack would similarly snag? 2.2 Tdci 110 XS CSW Corris Grey
