STORM OR ALIVE
Which one ? And what Stage 1 or 2!

Storm stage 1 and 2 no performance intercooler needed but Alives stage 2 does require intercooler and hoses.

What BHP and torque figures for td5 90?

I’m happy with my stage 1 by alive but a friend wanted more !

Also I’m still debating on a late tdci and wondering if they require mapping for better drivability ?

Not a fan of this "stage" malarkey. Just do what you feel you want

A map alone on a td5 will be roughly 150 - 170bhp maybe 330nm

IC + Map 160 - 180bhp maybe 340 - 360nm

IC, map, turbo 180 - 200bhp roughly 380 - 450nm.

All figures are dependant on the health of your engine, air intake and how its actually mapped.

Question is what do you want out of it?

A "Stage 1" map isnt going to give you exactly 170bhp, it will increase power but unless you dyno it youll never know as every engine and every car is different.

If you want some extra poke and dont tow or anything just get it mapped, youll have more power and itll be more responsive. I was more than happy when I did so on my old 90, tho ive treated my 110 to a fair bit more Very Happy

All defenders need mapping at the very least imo, end of the day its a 2 ton brick Instagram @defender_ventures
