Parking sensors

Gents
One (or more) of my parking sensors has croaked, any ideas on how to test them, (I seem to remember that they click when they sense something)
Any help is much appreciated

2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

on my dads car (vw) I could tell the broken ones by putting my ear upto them. the ones that worked went click click click.. easy to find the ones that did not and replace. 1953 80"
