Abenteuer Allrad/Bad Kissingen
Barbara and I are now on the way back to the UK from the Abenteuer Allrad show at Bad Kissingen. Now someone in the UK has told us the Bad Kissingen show is not an overland show despite its name which is Adventure 4 wheels . ROFLMAO.

Now this is probably the biggest overland show in Europe and Barbara and I make an annual pilgramage to it to stay on the Nakatanenga stand drink their beer and eat their food. We also sealed a new trade relationship with schnapps at 10.30 in the morning. Put some orders in for new gear to bring into the UK etc. Met the bosses of Nolden and Vision X and had some meaningful conversations

Unlike UK shows it has about 4 off road courses in the show ground. Anyone who wants to see all the stands in any meaningful way will fail to do it in a single day.

This thread may land up being picture heavy.

The Nakatanenga stand before the crowds arrive.

Now the boss of Nakatanenga helped in feeding us all

Whereas the European boss of Vision X struck silly poses

Yadi and Harry did a good job on feeding about 30 of us with pida

Yes it is a great show. Highly recommended as you see companies which are not widely know in the UK.

There is an off road course for the little ones. 2 euros for 3 rounds of the course, compare that to the average childrens entertainment at a UK event.

Then there is the course for those who want to be a proper 4x4 when they grow up

Then there is the official LR offroad course

Then there is the big boys and their toys off road course

I want one of those Big Boys Toys please

Thanks Brendan. Looks like our shows in the UK could learn a thing or two?

One of my Mates has been a couple of times and really rates it. Maybe one day, perhaps?

Any more photos?

More photos to follow.

Saw some interesting items, placed a few orders, will be announcing things as and when we know they have arrived safely.

Looks great, I’ll have to get to this show one day. Might have to remortgage the house before I set off so I have enough money for all the bits I’d want to buy Big Cry Ray

Ray, I do not know what sort of extra large Yorkshire palace you own but some of these big boys extra big toys will set you back half a million quid and that is for a second hand one!

That for me was one of the slightly frustrating bits of the show, it does seem to be very much geared up towards the bespoke build camper market- there was A LOT of extremely expensive gear there.

We got a few ideas to develop our 110, but mostly the stuff on sale was well beyond any kind of value I could ever aspire to.

The main think I took from the show was how much I want (and will also never afford.....) a G-Wagen. The Abenteur 4x4 'Otto' special edition is an absolute thing of beauty.

It was definitely worth a visit, and maybe we will do it again in a few years time but I won't be rushing back next year.

This was my second trip to Abenteuer Allrad, well worth the journey!

Did try to catch Brendan and Barbara on the Friday and Saturday but you were both busy bunnies!

Spoke to Peter from Nakatanenga, I'm so impressed with their stuff.

Booking the ferry for next year! Sandy

We weren’t busy bunnies on Saturday- we went down into town for the annual show shopping expedition. Friday Bren was doing the rounds of the show. I was probably chilling out the back under the awning with a book. For next years trip if we are not visible on the stand just pop round the back and knock on the oztent.
Regards
Barbara

Think I saw some photos of that in Angry Pumas - don't 110 Technik do the Abenteuer4x4 gear - looks like the G klasse had a version of their stainless steel rocksliders on?

The show changes from year to year. A couple of years ago there were a lot of demountable campers, this year there was a lot of camp kitchens. Last year there was a camp kitchen for 7,500 euros. Yes 7 thousand, 5 hundred euros, (that is not a mistake) it was a beautiful piece of furniture and the pans and knives etc were top notch. That trader was not there this year.

It is not a typical Land Rover show as we know in the UK. Everything from a small gizmo for a couple of euros up to a fully equipped big boy toys expedition truck for over a half million quid.

There are historic vehicles there up to the latest ones available.

This beautiful series one from 1949 was at the show. Now I would love to know the history on this vehicle. Made 1949 but first registered 2010 so where was it for the first 60 years of its life??

Not all campers were brand new vehicles

Unfortunately it was hemmed in by other vehicles

Now you do not need a big 4x4 for a roof top tent

The old and the new

Now there were some small vehicles at BK as well.

Yes this is a wooden frame motor bike and yes it is a working motor bike.

Motor bike with 'side car'

Now this VW looks like a standard small camper van/motorhome from the side

Now from the front it looks winch equipped

Then go around the back and realise it is a centre mounted winch, off to back around a snatch centre to the front.

Now a quick look at the underside shows this is a well equipped 4x4 camper

The small/medium sized campers

Then there is the big boy campers

Some even come with separate modes of transport.

What I did not see this year was the big truck which had a rear platform to take the small 4x4 into the back of the camper.

Now who fancies a proper bar at the back of their Land Rover?

One of the many camp kitchens available.

A shot showing part of the main food tent during a quiet period. Food and drink at BK is certainly more reasonable then the UK.

Hope people enjoyed photos and get a feeling of the show at BK.
