I’m in the process of buying a few trim bits and bobs prior to sound insulation, stainless steel upgrade, paint and rust touch ups etc. My door seals are a little tired, what do people use to replace original fitment? OE seals or is there a recommended upgrade, eg from Exmoor, Bearmach etc? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use anything but Landrover seals on the doors. Expensive, but the best.

Silly question, replaced the o/s drivers & passenger door seals for genuine LR ones. The drivers & passenger seals are 10mm shorter than what’s come off! They fit snug into the corners & are a good solid fit but still 10mm shorter, any thoughts? And they don’t stretch😬

Strange. Are they short on both legs? The door seals are handed left and right - you haven't fitted them the wrong way round by mistake?

The seals from a Santana PS10 are excellent, they have an extra lip that makes for an excellent draught proof seal.
I only have the front door ones, not sure what the rear ones are like. 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |

They’re the right hand & fit perfectly, nice & snug in the top corners but 10mm short on the legs! Not sure if they’re an updated design??

The latest seals for the door bottoms continue we’ll up the sides, it wouldn’t surprise me if LR shortened up the door surround seals to allow for a little clearance.

If you fit the latest pattern of genuine seal to the rear side doors on a 110, can you still see the road surface through the gap by the door stay when sitting in the rear seat with the door shut?
I have always felt that this was a quaint feature of the Defender, but I have never decided whether it was to let water in or let water out. If the latest seals stop this, I might get a set. |

Always genuine for door seals. I had a bad experience years ago on my first Defender with cheaper ones and had to throw them away and buy genuine in end which fit perfectly and are very good quality.

I fitted Bearmach seals 2.5yrs ago and they fit perfectly right down to my rocksliders and are still in superb condition.
