Tracker Yes - work out if you want it as a deterant (eg publish you have it) or a recover tool (eg dont mention it)
Battery backed up sounder to the normal alarm will be fine Make sure it is difficult to remove doors and bonnets (sealant and wire restraints) Some form steering wheel guard (disclock or similar) Good home security when your parking it at home Sensible parking when your not at home Good insurance And your done (and i didnt make any SVX comments) You could go a little further - like SMART water and anti theft bolts etc... I love our 110 so much I'd happily kip in it in a sleeping bag most nights. That would put the thieves off. A 16st bloke who sleeps like a log would totally block all access to the pedals and prevent turning the wheel better than any clutch claw or disclock.

Where does the "sealant" go? Do you mean a thread lock? And likewise any thoughts about where to mount the wire restraints
I wondered about drilling the bolt heads to remove the pozidriv - bit radical and won't do much for rust prevention |

I mentioned this sometime ago and if your thoughts are as mine the idea was to put silicon sealant in the door hinge recess where the bolts fit. the idea being that before you can remove the bolts (and hence the doors) you have to ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I get it......sealant is a neat solution - certainly better than drilling the heads out.
What about the wire restraints on the earlier post.....how does they work? |

plastic covered steel wire bond ie like a motorbike lock tucked over the internal bracing under the bonnet and locked to the engine lifting point only enough slack so you can get you arms under to lock it and unlock the restraint If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

If someone was to Market a bonnet lock I think they would sell loads!
Older 109's used to have them. Maybe an electrical solenoid lock would do the trick ? Just a thought. Ashcroft are the transmission experts maybe they could come up with some sort of transmission lock? I used to have Yale dead locks on my escort rs2000 (mk2) you don't see them for sale anymore. |
