That's probably true, someone used to old carburettered petrol engines would probably just assume it only operates the dash temperature gauge. To test those it was just a case of shorting the wire to ground and seeing if the gauge when to hot, if it did you needed a new sensor. Not quite that easy anymore! ![]() |

Glow plug and smokey start like yours, they’d thrown all sorts of sensors, relays and parts at it, visual inspection and a wiring diagram would have been a decent idea in my eyes

![]() Tired or depleted batteries are a good one too. The computer/computers get starved of power when you crank it so all sorts of random codes get stored in the fault memory. So people start changing all sorts, because the ECU says so. It's good to start with the basics. |
